A stunning early morning view of the Lickle Valley, you can see the Turkey Shed and Farmhouse arrowed.

The Turkey Shed is near Broughton Mills in the Lickle Valley. Walk over the hill behind the Turkey Shed and you will find yourself in the Duddon Valley which was a favourite of Wordsworth’s. Local rumour has it that Wordsworth stayed at Low Bleansley Farmhouse whilst walking in the area. We are only 20 minutes drive from the coast. From the door you can walk the ridge of fells which include White Maiden, Caw and Stickle Pike, that lead to Coniston Old Man.

This is also ideal country for cycling, pony trekking and a variety of water sports, all of which are available nearby. We are at the end of a lane so there is no through traffic, which makes it perfect for children.
